Our puppies are raised in our home with attention and care. They are well socialized and used to children. They have their 1st shots, rear dewclaws and tails docked, they are given interceptor for heart worm protection and flea and tick preventer if weather appropriate. They come with a 2 year health guarantee. All parents have been cleared for eye, hip and heart problems before breeding.
Signs of a reputable breeder: When searching for you new best friend it's important to find a reputable breeder. while trying to screen breeders it's important to know some things to look for when searching for a breeder. Below are some suggestions that may help.
A). The dogs and puppies are relaxed around people: If the parent dogs and puppies are comfortable around humans that's a good sign that they have been well cared for and socialized.
B). The place is clean, the dogs and puppies are well cared for and happy.
C). The breeder asks you to sign a spay/neuter contract. Indiscriminent breeding of puppies without a good working knowledge of the breed and how to properly go about it, is not good for the breed, and should not be allowed by an ethical breeder.
D). The breeder wants to meet the whole family and welcomes you to make several visits.
E). The breeder asks you lots of questions about your family and children, current pets and lifestyle. The better the breeder understands these the better they can help you find the best puppy for your family.
F). The breeder will take the dog back, at any stage of the dog's life. Hopefully this will never be necessary but life has many changes and it's nice to know that you won't have to worry about finding a safe new home for you dog if it does become a necessity.
G). The breeder does the health clearances on all parents, ideally for several generations back. Healthy puppies are born from healthy parents.
H). The breeder offers a health guarantee. A health guarantee is a sign that the breeder has reason to be confident about the health of their puppies.
